As a non-profit organization, our programs and services cost more to deliver than you might expect, certainly more than we can reasonably charge the individuals and communities we serve. Over all, TOF earns approximately 40% of its operating budget from program income and fees for services. This means our award-winning youth and school programs; trainings for teachers, family counselors, health and service professionals; rites-of-passage programs for young and old; and retreats for families, artists, and activists - all need additional funding. Moreover, we are committed to making scholarships available to those in need, whenever possible.
We seek to raise the remaining 60% of our budget through gifts, grants, contributions, and in-kind donations in order to continue these much needed programs.
Our Annual Appeal, which helps cover our operating overhead, generates approximately $100,000 per year from an expanding circle of regular annual donors who embrace our mission. Annual donors are offered various discounts and free retreats at our Center in Ojai, depending on their level of giving. We have three basic categories of giving:
In addition, we are blessed with support from a number of individual donors who make major annual gifts.
