An Evening with traditional Aleut Messenger Ilarion (Larry Merculieff)
Reception with Refreshments 6 pm
Talk begins promptly at 7 pm, $15.00
Indigenous peoples who have intimate and sustained contact with their lands and waters and who have maintained the spiritual basis for relating to everything in their environment have a profound understanding of what "sustainability" really means. Rooted in an understanding of the sacred feminine principle, these lifeways are an important balance to western concepts of sustainability which are generally used outside of meaningful context, limiting the depth to which we can go collectively in restoring harmony in our relationship with Mother Earth and thus the Sacred Feminine. As Earth's life supporting systems are being pushed to the edge of viability, restoring this balance becomes ever more urgent. As an Aleut (Unungan) Traditional Messenger, Ilarion Merculieff is charged with the cultural task of carrying ancient wisdom into modern times, to sharing Indigenous elder wisdom and the messages of Indigenous spiritual leaders with the world. Please join us for an evening of deep listening from the heart of the Earth.
