Join us in a day of mindful service and participate in TOF's permaculture-inspired land work. You'll work alongside Chris Marion, current groundskeeper, and TOF volunteer-in-residence and "water lover," Siri Gunnarson.
With springtime upon us, we have focused our attention to our edible landscaping maintenance. Come work with us as we tend to our fruit bearing trees: persimmons, figs, mandarin oranges, pomegranates, and more! We will partake in some light earthworks around our orchards, creating a water-friendly landscape. We will also apply composts and other nutrient rich soil additives that will encourage the production of healthy and abundant fruit this season. As always, we will incorporate mindfulness into our physical work, creating a practice of Samu or "living council."
Bring layers, sun and rain protection, a snack (optional), and wear sturdy working clothes and shoes or boots. Work gloves and tools provided.
This is a volunteer program with no fee. Donations to TOF or to the teachers are welcomed.
RSVP appreciated. Please call Diana at 805-646-8343, ext. 123 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
