Facilitated by two Ojai Foundation Council Trainers, yoga teachers, and devoted Ashtanga practitioners, this weekend journey will move through the eight-limbs of Patanjali’s Ashtanga yoga tradition as taught by Sr K. Patthabi Jois. The Way of Council will be the vehicle for our journey.
We will share dynamic vinyasa yoga practices, breath-work, meditation, inquiry into Patanjali’s yoga sutras, time with the original teacher (wild nature), and council circles. All levels of yoga and council practitioner are welcome (some experience of yoga recommended). Veteran council practitioners will share the circle with those new to the practice, while yoga teachers and practitioners will gain tools for fostering community and transformative practice beyond the yoga mat.
Whatever our practice, the path truly begins when we start to listen; giving permission for things to be as they are, giving space for people as they are, witnessing ourselves and our bodies move through whatever conditions they are experiencing, and eventually returning to a simple, spacious, and embodied presence with life as it is.
Join us on a pilgrimage into the heart of listening – to our breath, our bodies, the natural world, our whole selves.
